Skål International celebrates impressive success of its Sustainable Tourism Awards entries reception
Skål International is thrilled to announce the remarkable success of its recent awards submissions reception. A total of with 56 participants representing 20 countries worldwide across eight newly refreshed categories.
Since 2002, this annual awards serves as a platform to recognize outstanding contributions, remarkable achievements, innovation, and best practices in sustainability and responsible tourism.
Skål International continues its collaboration with UN Tourism
This year, Skål International continues its collaboration with the esteemed UN Tourism. During their General Assembly and the 44th Affiliate Members Plenary Session held on October 16, 2023, in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Skål International’s submission for the joint promotion of the Skål Sustainable Tourism Awards Project was accepted as part of the Affiliate Members Department Programme of Work for 2024.
Skål International and its partnership with Biosphere Tourism and the Responsible Tourism Institute
Skål International is also delighted to keep its partnership with Biosphere Tourism and the Responsible Tourism Institute since 2018, who will also award each winner with the 'Skål International - Biosphere Sustainable Special Award' consisting of a one-year free subscription to the Biosphere Sustainable platform, where the winner will be able to create their own personalized Sustainability Plan for continuous improvement and recognition of the efforts of their companies or organisations.
Skål International strengthens partnership with Sustainable Travel International
Sustainable Travel International collaborates with Skål International as a partner within the context of these awards. We are delighted to have this esteemed entity on board, working towards achieving the objectives of these awards and fostering closer ties with the global tourism community.
Jury of the Awards
The impartial panel of sustainability experts is currently evaluating the received entries. Their identities will remain confidential until the evaluation process is complete.
The success of the Awards entries reception not only provides a platform for recognition but also inspires professionals to push the boundaries of their work, ultimately driving positive change and innovation toward sustainability within the tourism industry.
